WHY ADPASS

We got fed up.
So we built
something better.
We got fed up. So we built something better.

AdPass was started by Nick, a longtime software developer who got tired of tools that fight you. Here’s why we built it, and what you can expect from us.

Nobody loves their ad blocker or their password manager. They’re utilities: they should do their job quietly and stay out of your way. Instead, most of them keep reminding you they’re there, with clunky screens, nag pop-ups and extra steps.

We’ve spent years building software, so we notice when something is badly made. This whole category is badly made. You install two extensions for two jobs that belong together, pay for two subscriptions and sign in twice. The screens look like nobody has touched them in ten years. And when something goes wrong, you write to support and hear nothing back.

Our favorite: a password manager meant to save you from typing passwords on a tiny phone keyboard that, ironically, wants a long master password typed on it. Whoever designed that should be fired.

None of this is hard to fix. It just takes people who sweat the details and use the thing every day. So we built AdPass: one app that blocks the ads and keeps the passwords. It unlocks with Face ID or a passkey, not a novel-length password. It looks calm and stays out of your way. And it will never take money to let “acceptable” ads through.

WHAT WE GOT TIRED OF

Four things this space gets wrong

Every one of these made us close an app in frustration. Here’s what AdPass does instead. And what AdPass does instead.

Two apps for one job

An ad blocker here, a password manager there, two bills and two sign-ins. AdPass is one app with one sign-in.

Clunky, dated screens

Settings buried three menus deep and pop-ups begging you to upgrade. AdPass is calm, clear and quick.

Long passwords on a phone

Typing a 30-character master password on a tiny keyboard. AdPass unlocks with Face ID or a passkey.

Bugs that never get fixed

You report a bug and it sits there for years. At AdPass, if something is clunky or broken, we fix it fast.
